Rotary Noon News – Week #2: Linda’s Year Heats Up!

Issue #3 · July 21, 2026

Welcome, District Governor Michael Franklin!

Create Lasting Impact!

Our very engaging, enthusiastic District Leader, Michael Franklin, returned to a warm welcome from The Villages Noon for Linda’s third meeting!

His easily attainable challenges for all of us:

  • Better your “best”: We have much more horsepower than we use!
  • Access and promote your club’s “vibe” (culture)!
  • Release the “COOL” in you: relax and have fun in Rotary!
  • Wear your Rotary SWAG around The Villages!

Rotary in ACTION!

President Linda was surprised and thankful to see Treasurer Ron McMahon cleaning up our podium cupboard and stash of Rotary decor and equipment this week. THANK YOU, RON!

As promised last week, we have a “friendlier” photo of Ron. PLEASE check in with Ron each meeting, whether you are eating or not.

Barbara was the raffle winner this week, but… she didn’t draw the Joker for the jackpot. Boooo!

Social Chair Randy passed out proposed party agendas! Whoo-hoo! The first grill cookout will be in October at Colony Rec Center. Date TBD.

Check the Whiteboard!

Because not everyone reads the newsletter… President Linda and Event Chair Randy will keep members and visitors calendar-ready with updates posted near the door. Take a snapshot and add these dates to your calendar!

About the October 2 “Homecoming” event at Sawgrass: an event South of 44 to reach out to Villages newcomers who were Rotarians before relocating here. We will re-ignite the passion for Rotary and invite these folks to join us on Tuesdays. More info soon.

The Hunter and The Hunted!

[PHOTO PLACEHOLDER: Scott Dudley at lunch]

Past District 5050 Governor Scott Dudley (Seattle, WA) is moving from Winter Haven to The Villages and is hunting for a new Rotary club. He was strategically seated between Chuck and Bobbie for lunch. Chuck McKone pointed out that The Hunter has now become The Hunted! We hope Scott cannot resist our “vibe.” Scott appeared to enjoy the visit, despite being booed as a Seahawks fan.

We hope to welcome Scott (and his wife!) again soon.
