“Cool Guy” Abe’s Hilarious Story
Thirteen years ago, as a young adult, Abe left his home country of Syria for Abu Dhabi in the UAE. I guess that wasn’t expensive enough, so he moved to California! LOL! It was a huge language learning curve. Passing on sales jobs, he worked as a cleaner, in Boston Market food delivery, and then as a FedEx driver. He was able to buy a home! He met his girlfriend, and they got into real estate and mortgages.
Racing around in his Jeep one day, he was ticketed for rolling through a stop sign. Among his choices for a hearing in front of a judge, he saw Christmas Eve as a possible date. He thought the odds of the officer showing up on December 24 were slim. BUT, not one to take chances, he proposed to his girlfriend and told her they would get married December 24 at the courthouse, because NO judge would be hard-hearted enough to convict him after seeing the bride in her white dress. It worked! They now live in Ocala, have 4 kids, and he has the AC business in Lady Lake. Marhaba!
Quip from retired attorney Chuck McKone: “A life sentence for a traffic violation!”

This year, our largest club fundraiser is pushed to December 18–20. We are encouraged to both sell and celebrate. It is fun to see our own club members on stage in a variety of roles: singing, dancing, and being even more corny than they are at Tuesday meetings. You will love it! Stay tuned for more info from President Linda, and mark your calendars!
Happy Birthday!
